DTP - BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF ASIA-PACIFIC HUMAN RIGHTS MOVEMENTS 1990 - 2021

Welcome to this issue of DTP’s eNews with updates on DTP’s courses, webinars, alumni and partners, resources for human rights and jobs. Last week DTP partnered with OHCHR, UNEP and others in the first Asia-Pacific Forum for Environmental Human Rights Defenders. This week we are partnering with OHCHR in the 2nd Pacific Forum on BHR. Our new program on Myanmar was also launched and will be online for six weeks.

DTP PROGRAMS

CHILDREN'S RIGHTS Save the Date: 14th December, 1pm AEDT for the next child rights webinar on the intersection with disability, with Rosemary Kayess, Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disability. More information to follow.

ADVOCACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN MYANMAR A CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM FOR THE DIASPORA IN 2021: New program launched with over 40 participants. Program launched last week with keynotes from U Aung Myo Min, NUG Human Rights Minister, Dr Tun Aung Shwe, NUG Representative to Australia and DTP alumna, Melinda Tun.

HUMAN RIGHTS IN CAMBODIA - 30 YEARS YEARS AFTER THE PARIS PEACE AGREEMENT - SAVE THE DATE: 9th December, 2pm AEDT to mark the International Day for the Prevention of Genocide, with The Hon Gareth Evans, The Hon Michael Kirby, and Sopheap Chak, Executive Director, Cambodian Centre for Human Rights, moderated by DTP alumna HE Yuyun Wahyuningrum.
