Mimi Lusli

Director, Mimi Institute
Indonesia
Mimi is the Director at Mimi Institute. The Institute focuses on issues of disability and inclusiveness and aims to change the mindset of the government and the community to view disability issues as a human rights issue instead of charity. As Director, she develops and manages programs to mainstream disability issues including lobbying and building networks with schools, universities, corporations and the government. She also provides counselling to persons with disabilities as well as training programs to empower persons with disabilities and to raise awareness of the community. She has had experience working with persons with disabilities to run businesses and gain employment and has lobbied the government and business communities to support persons with disabilities. Mimi hopes to expand her knowledge on international human rights standards and in particular on the rights of persons with disabilities and its relation to business. She plans to use the knowledge and skills gained from this training program to lobby businesses to be more inclusive and to support the participation of persons with disabilities in the workforce and in businesses.
