Bettina is a Senior Policy Officer in the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Unit of HREOC, where she provides policy advice on Indigenous rights issues. The Social Justice Unit is set up to promote and protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples in Australia, and a key role of the Social Justice Commissioner is to keep Indigenous concerns before the Federal Government and the Australian community. The Unit monitors recent changes in Indigenous Affairs, paying particular attention to the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in those decisions which affect their lives and communities.
