Kamol is a member of the Garo indigenous community. Kamol is a Project Coordinator of Integrated Community Development Projects of Caritas Bangladesh. In this role, Kamol focuses on improving the development of the indigenous peoples basic needs and living conditions, and on empowering indigenous people to be advocates for human rights issues. Kamol works to facilitate sustainable social, human, environmental and economic development for the disadvantaged and discriminated ethnic minorities. Kamol also has experience advocating for human rights during his time as a member of the Garo Student Union and through his own personal experiences as an Indigenous person. Kamol uses a range of advocacy methods to lobby Governments. He aims to gain from this program more knowledge of strategies for advocacy work that he could bring to his work in Bangladesh. Kamol hopes to contribute in improving the lives of the minority indigenous peoples of Bangladesh.
