Dela is the assistant coordinator of the monitoring division at the National Commission on violence against women in Indonesia. In her role Dela is responsible for the analysis and drafting of recommendations on the remedies and preventative measures to be followed-up by relevant authoritative parties, as well as publishing the annual report on violence against women in Indonesia, she is also involved in the monitoring of violence against women and women’s rights violations, and understands the reality faced by female migrant workers required to work abroad to support family, and the role of coercion and force, as well as experience of violence in their workplaces. Dela would like to learn through the DTP Program about the international human rights standards for migrant workers, as well as advocacy and monitoring strategies, and utilise these skills in her role at Komnas Perempuan where she works with female migrant workers who are victims of human trafficking and are coerced into taking part in drug trafficking, through developing an understanding of the intersectionality between gender based violence against female migrant workers, human rights and drugs issues., Dela is working for Trade Union Rights Centre as a labour lawyer. Trade Union Rights Centre supports the development of independent trade unions in Indonesia, and conducts research and advocacy. Dela works in the advocacy division and is responsible for organising trade union training programs including the Labour Law Course for Trade Unionists, the International Labour Standard Course, and the Freedom of Association Course for Trade Unionists and the Advocacy Training on Wage program. Dela has also been involved with the advocacy division and assists with cases. She has particular experience in fair wages advocacy and advocating for the realisation of the freedom of association right and the right to organise.
