Luluk Uliyah

Luluk is the Secretariat Manager for JATAM, a network of non-governmental and community based organisations working on issues concerning human rights, gender, the environment, Indigenous peoples and social justice in relation to the mining, oil and gas industries. Luluk is responsible for campaigning, cooperating with the mass media and managing publications and documentation. Funding campaigns by JATAM include success against Meares Soputan Mining whereby appealing directly to shareholders and backers caused the withdrawal of the support of the company’s bank. Luluk believes the training will improve her knowledge of the relationship between human rights and business and help her develop alternative strategies for addressing JATAM’s issues. She also believes it will provide a useful platform for establishing cooperation with other agencies in the field.
