At Geo TV she is the section head of the Women’s and Children’s Affairs, Health and Education. She has a Master’s in Mass Communication from the University of Karachi. Her interest in journalism stems from her belief in a better and just world, with the potential to use the mainstream media to report on the injustices of society, but also to ensure that she could use her skills as a journalist to bring about positive social change. Furthermore, she strongly believes in the importance of the role of the media and civil society in ensuring the proper accountability and transparency of government. Aisha’s particular interests include the situation of women in Pakistan. She would like to attend the Diplomacy Training Program 13th Annual Human Rights and People’s Diplomacy Training, so that she can more about the international human rights laws and machinery; as well as gain further lobbying and advocacy skills. Furthermore, the opportunity to meet participants from across the Asia Pacific will allow her to access a vast regional network of similar human rights activists.
