Amema Saeju

Highland People Taskforce
Thailand
Amema works for the Highland People Taskforce. Her main responsibilities included creating a survey of Lisu villages in Thailand regarding their health situation. This includes visiting the village on a day-to-day basis doing interviews about the problems they face such as lack of identity cards, poverty, and HIV/AIDS. Amema’s goal during the program is to get an experience of other countries and minority cultures and learn more techniques to solve conflict. She is also interested in becoming friends with other advocates from around the globe to learn from and to share experiences with. She wants to obtain a wider understanding of the Human Rights situation and Human Rights law, and the ability to put the Thai mountain people in a wider Asian framework.
