Benget coordinates the Study and Analysis Department, which collects case studies about social politics. His daily activities include the networking with other NGOs and undertaking studies in local areas that have high levels of social conflict. In addition, he is responsible for planning, coordination and implementation of programs, giving advice to other departments about advocacy, preparation of reports, lobbies and negotiates with bureaucracies to support public hearings and dialogue, uses the internet for dissemination and collection of information and collects relevant documents of public interest. He also facilitates groups for students and youth to support emerging leaders. His future goals include developing studies about the military’s oppression of civil society, labour issues, sectarian conflict in North Sumatra and land reform issues. He plans to undertake public dialogue, publish books and strengthen student groups and youth to recruit others to empower the movement for democracy.
