Media and Communications, Youth for Diffable
Indonesia
Octavia studies sociological and anthropological law and wrote a thesis on the issues of accesibility for people with schizophrenia. She works for media and communications for Youth for Diffable, a local NGO that raises the awareness of sign language in the hearing impairment community. In her work, she found the socio-economic aspect is lacking and has disadvantaged the hearing impairment community. She believes the DTP training will benefit her in expanding networks and knowledge on diplomacy practices on a national and international level. She would like to learn about the human rights law and mechanisms and how to apply this nationally and to ensure the State’s responsibility to its people.
