Bidya Chapagai

Bidhya works for INSEC as a human rights monitoring officer. The committee is formed from a group 40 human rights NGO’s that produce an alternative report on the state of human rights in Nepal. Much of Bidhya’s work focuses on researching and documenting international treaties and conventions. This is done to make their applicability known to NGO’s within the committee and to the public. He also develops, manages and implements projects to help the community with these treaties. Bidhya coordinates the construction of parallel reports lobby’s the government to ratify new international conventions and to effectively implement treaties which have been signed. To do this requires extensive research and commitment as well as up to date knowledge on the human rights practices in the region.
