Legal Rights and Natural Resources Center
Philippines
Carl is the team leader of the regional office of the Legal Rights and Natural Resources Centre in Cagayan de Oro City. His office primarily focuses on the issues of forestry, indigenous peoples rights, mining and energy issues. He has been a development worker for 7 years and in this time has been involved in advocating against the various human rights violations that beset the community. In his current work he is reviewing the methodology of the human rights Impact Assessment research project on how trans-national corporations work in the Philippines. He would like to use the skills and experience gained from the DTP program to build greater consistency among human rights advocates on the national, regional and community levels. Carl would also concentrate on sharing his knowledge with the community and other human rights advocates.
