Cherry Minero

As regional coordinator for Bicol Regional Social Action Commission, Cherry facilitates the development and strengthening of a network of seven Social Action Centres. The Centres are committed to the advocacy of human rights on a local level and provide training and capability building activities to the community and other NGO partners. Cherry is involved with the development of training modules, the formulation of action plans and campaign kits and the dissemination of information for the programs. Cherry believes that her participation in the program will be of invaluable help in the training and development of regional social action, furthering the goals of peace building and human rights. Cherry is particularly interested in advocating responsible human rights practices in large corporations, particularly in regard to the large-scale mining operations in the Philippines.
