Chhoeung Sovannarith

Technical/Program Officer, MSM, Family Health International
Cambodia
Sovannarith is the Training Coordinator of NAA and a member of the national Mobility Working Group which aims to provide accurate and useful information to migrant workers. Cambodia has highly mobile populations within its borders, moving among provinces and between rural and urban areas. Most of them are women under age 30 who have usually migrated from rural areas to find work and are likely to be separated from their family networks for the first time. He has had more than seven years NGO experience relating to human rights protection, supervisory management, education and training, project planning, monitoring evaluation, and working with vulnerable people moving from rural areas to Phnom Penh. He believes that participation in this Program will allow him to develop his practical skills in advocacy, lobbying and working with the media to advance migrant workers’ rights. In so doing, he hopes to influence policy and practice in relation to one of the region’s greatest human rights challenges.
