Voice of the Youth Network
Philippines
Christine is the Director for International Exchanges with Voice of the Youth Network. This allows her to communicate with Voice of the Youth’s partner organisations and to establish new partnerships and widen networks with youth organisations world wide. Voice of the Youth provides talks and seminars to youth groups throughout the Philippines with the aim of empowering all communities found within the country. Christine researches and implements various programs for Filipino youth in regards to education and advocacy. She has attended various international conferences such as the National Model United Nations in New York in both 2003 and 2004, and the the Model United Nations Far West in April 2004. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs and is currently studying towards a Masters of Arts in International Studies. Christine would like to attend the DTP Indigenous training session as it will allow her to network with human rights activists from around the Asia-Pacific region. She would also like to further her knowledge in relation to advocacy and human rights, particularly in regards to Indigenous peoples. This information will be used in training sessions by her organisation upon her completion of the program. She believes that the training session will allow her organisation to help fulfil its mission statement to “further the interest of every individual by preserving the dignity of every individual through productive and informative programs that will reiterate and give significance to the rights of man”.
