Deewa Dela Cruz

Deewa is a communications officer at the International Indigenous Peoples Movement for Self Determination & Liberation (IPMSDL), a global network of Indigenous rights organisations and activists. She is responsible for IPMSDL’s social media and website, where they disseminate information and news on Indigenous peoples to their supporters around the globe. Deewa has helped to coordinate IPMDSL’s forum on Self-Determination in the Pacific Islands in 2017 and is active in multi-sector campaigns in the Philippines. Through this program, Deewa hopes to learn about influencing regional and international bodies to enact policies that support Indigenous peoples’ welfare and rights. She hopes to exchange information with other human rights advocates and organisations to better support her organisation in future.
