He also coordinates and supervises ACHR’s Indigenous Peoples Rights Team and is the North-East India Regional Coordinator for the implementation of the European Commission funded ‘Campaign against Torture” project in India. Dilip has been involved in a number of cases of Indigenous peoples rights violations with the National Human Rights Commission, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, and other redressal forums including, the courts. He has recently been working on the case of 1444 indigenous families whose traditional lands had been acquired by the Government of India for the construction of the Indo Bangladesh Border Fencing (IBBF) project in Mizoram’s Mamit district and consequently have been displaced without resettlement and rehabilitation.
