India
Mr Dympep is 31 years of age and lives in Shillong, India, and has completed a Bachelor of Arts. MPHRC was founded by Mr Dympep in 1996 as a human rights watch body which strives to facilitate collaboration among human rights organisations at the state, regional and international levels on issues of common concern. At MPHRC, Mr Dympep documents and monitors various human rights abuse cases by the State and advocates for human rights through the media and networking with other rights based organisations and civil society. My Dympep has also undertaken a series of investigations regarding prison justice and rights under trial. In addition, his field of work includes issues related to the situation of women and children in areas of conflict, and providing appropriate counseling to victims of human rights abuses. Mr Dympep feels that he needs to learn more about the techniques for safeguarding human rights and forming strategies to combat the injustices faced by his community. He sees that the strength of the MPHRC lies in increasing the awareness of human rights from the grassroots level through to the organizational and governmental level, and believes that through the knowledge and skills gained at the training he can enhance the knowledge of his colleagues and their work.
