Donna Clay

Australian Conservation Foundation
Australia
Donna is the Indigenous Rights Advocacy Coordinator for OCAA. Her work encompasses the broad areas of health, youth, and self-determination, and she is expected to develop and implement advocacy strategies to assist the rights of Indigenous Australians. She is also involved in supporting the development, implementation and review of agency policies and strategies related to Indigenous Peoples. Donna’s previous work has been in the research and community development sector, with organisations whose work is directed towards protecting and promoting the rights of various sectors of the community such as the Council on the Ageing Queensland, the Queenslanders with a Disability Network, as well as Native Title Representative Bodies. Much of Donna’s advocacy work has been done at local, state and national levels, and she would like to learn more about Indigenous Advocacy on an international level. Donna believes that the training will provide her with a strong grounding in international human rights standards, and will improve her knowledge of the avenues for advocacy within the international arena.
