Eduarda Goncalves

Eduarda coordinates the human rights education program at Forum Tau Matan (FTM) an organization working on human rights and prison monitoring. In her role, Eduarda assesses human rights education needs and implements activities including public awareness of the seven human rights treaties which have been ratified by the Timor-Leste Government and production of publications on complaint mechanisms. Recently, her organisation has concentrated in advocating for individual cases of concern, documenting abuse, providing legal advice to victims and raising public awareness for prevention of trafficking. As more Timor Leste citizens work overseas in Asia, Australia and Europe (e.g. London, Ireland) and more foreign workers work in Timor Leste, FTA and Eduarda hope to gain a rich understanding in migrant worker and child trafficking issues at the Program. Eduarda was a previous participant of the Migrants Workers Program in 2007.
