UNTL’s Human Rights Centre is a new institution created together with the Global Campus of Human Rights and the support of the EU to mainstream human rights education at the National University. As Project Coordinator, Elizabeth is in charge of child rights education activities, with the aim to integrate a child rights module for the curriculum of specific faculties – Law, Medicine and Education. She works closely with the project manager to support the organization of human rights and children’s rights training courses, workshops, and seminars, together with local and international experts. She is also closely involved in the development of human rights education at UNTL, which aims to establish the human rights course as a mandatory course at UNTL. This training program will assist Elizabeth and the UNTL Human Rights Centre to further develop their knowledge on the linkage between human rights education and advocacy, especially in relation to the protection of vulnerable groups, as well as enable her to develop connections with other human rights defenders and organizations in the region.
DTP acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, the Bedegal people of the Eora Nation. We recognise their lands were never ceded, and we acknowledge their struggles for recognition and rights and pay our respects to the Elders – past, present – and the youth who are working towards a brighter tomorrow. This continent always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
