Ester Kyaw

Ester is a Karen woman currently residing in Canberra. She works in the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs in the Australian Government. She is the vice-chairperson of the Australian Karen Association (ACT Chapter) and has held a position as the treasurer of the Canberra Burmese Association. She worked as a volunteer for the Australian Burma Council (ABC) for almost ten years and was involved in raising awareness of Burma’s human rights violations. Ester has a BA (Rangoon), Bachelor of Management (Canberra), Master of International Business (Canberra) and a Diploma of Government and has completed an extensive list of courses.
