People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy (PSPD) in South Korea
Korea
Eun-ha works for People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, a leading advocacy group for democracy in South Korea. PSPD has played a significant role in building transparency in Korean political and economic systems. As the Coordinator of Social Welfare & Human Rights, Eun-ha is working to reform the social welfare system and to protect and improve the social rights of the underprivileged particularly the social rights of women and children. In 2004 she spent 4 months at the National Endowment for Democracy Centre in Washington researching human rights violations on refugees from North Korea. PSPD acquired consultative status with ECOSOC in 2004 but has not participated actively in international networks. She is keen to increase PSPD’s capacity to build regional networks with other NGOs. Eun-ha has a Master of Politics majoring in NGOs and Civil society from the Graduate Institution of Peace Study at Kunghee University.
