Fatma Salma Houerbi

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre (BHRRC) Jordan
Jordan
Fatma Houerbi is the Regional Representative of the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre. Her work is to provide greater transparency and accountability for companies’ human rights impacts throughout the Middle East & North Africa by strengthening transparency, promoting accountability, and empowering others to act. Fatma has found that while there has been to a certain extent an increasing attention on migrant workers’ rights in the Gulf and in Lebanon and Jordan, there remains less ongoing discussions on this topic in North Africa. By participating in this workshop, she hopes to exchange advocacy strategies which took place in the Middle East and to draw lessons and good practices in order to enhance awareness of CBOS on these topics in North Africa – especially Tunisia/ Morocco. She believes the workshop is also excellent occasion to exchange and spot existing gaps in protecting migrant workers’ rights at a regional level and identify synergies between the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre and other organisations.
