Ganchimeg Sodnomdoo

Ganchmeg is a Board Member of Amnesty International Mongolia and responsible for human rights education (HRE). She joined Amnesty International Mongolia in 1995 and has been closely involved in developing HRE, in creating a volunteer trainers team and in planning and implementing HRE strategy. AI Mongolia conducts extensive human rights education programs and is working to incorporate human rights education into curricula at all levels of the Mongolian public education system. In addition, AI Mongolia lobbies for the ratification of international human rights treaties and works to incorporate international human rights standards into domestic law. AI Mongolia also translates and distributes to the Mongolian public information on human rights issues around the world. Ganchimeg has been responsible for ‘HRE for Primary and Secondary Education Teachers Project’ and ‘HRE for Law Enforcement Officials Project’ and has translated and published several Human Rights Education books. She is keen to engage and contribute to the global human rights education movement and develop effective communication on all aspects of her HRE work.
