Grant is Youth programs Coordinator with Reconciliation Australia. His role is to actively engage Indigenous youth to use their voice to speak on issues impacting on their community. He also supports the organisational formation of a peak Indigenous youth body. Previously Grant worked with The Foundation for Young Australians, Collins Street Baptist Church, the National Indigenous Training Association and Kids Helpline. In these diverse roles he encountered a number of human rights issues around mental health, substance abuse and homelessness, access to health, education and employment opportunities and lack of adequate community housing and water. Reconciliation Australia has a number of practical initiatives aimed at assisting Indigenous people build stronger communities as well as policy interventions to improve access to life choices.
