Hom Karki

Mr. Karki from Nepal and is currently located in Doha, Qatar as Gulf Beuro Chief of Kantipur publication. Kantipur publication is publishing weekly from Qatar and called as ‘Kantipur Qatar edition’. He started working in Kantipur since 2009 and reports on migration issues. Mr. Karki is a journalist and does field reporting for all GCC countries. He has been field reporting of GCC countries, where 1.5 million Nepalese has been worked. His reporting mostly focused on migration issues. I have written more than 1000 various stories, which is mainly focus on formal and informal sector of foreign migration workers. Also supporting and providing necessary information on migrant workers’ rights, abuses, knowledge of polices, sending back to home country, human trafficking and access to justice etc. He also writes a regular column, called OUT OF NATION, which is popular on Doha. As a reporter there are so many things to learn deeply about migrants’ issues, thus he hopes that the DTP Program will enable him to learn more about migrant rights and observe closely about their issues. Mr. Karki also wants to know more about how to optimize the contract/ agreement that can be more efficient to get easily to the workers’ rights, and the roles and responsibilities of the local government to insure that the workers are eligible to get their basic rights.
