Jagad Sucipto

Founder, Mediation and Advocacy Div, PERTAKINA
Indonesia
Jagad Sucipto is the founder of PERTAKINA, his responsibilities include ensuring each department of the organisation completes their duties competently. As founder, Jagad oversees entire operation of the organisation and his duties usually involves establishing board meetings, resolving important cases, communicating with stakeholders, establish business partners and providing information about cases. Jagad is a passionate protector of migrant rights who has set out the key goals of his organisation to be protecting migrant workers struggling with issues. He aims to do this by ensuring a pro-active approach to dealing with cases and completing cases as efficiently as possible. His drive for protection of migrant workers’ rights stems from his experience as a migrant worker in Hong Kong, where he had received an injury while working and the employer or insurance failed to provide compensation. Moreover, Jagad also aims to overcome challenges to migrant workers’ rights. These include providing information to local communities, lack of government advocacy and lack of support to migrant workers. Thus, Jagad hopes the DTP training will allow him to overcome these challenges and protect migrant workers, including their family members.
