Judhisthir Meher

Judhisthir is a Legal Officer at the Friend’s Association for Rural Reconstruction (FARR) which is based in Orissa, India. FARR currently works on issues affecting Indigenous peoples such as food insecurity, livelihood, right to education, right to health, and child labour. The organization also conducts advocacy work on behalf of Indigenous peoples who have suffered displacement due to development projects and assist them to seek justice and compensation for their loss. Judhisthir assists Indigenous clients in filing cases of violations such as consumer cases, child exploitation, and domestic violence on women. He also organizes paralegal trainings for people in the villages as well as acts as a resource person for awareness programs conducted by the organization. He hopes to be able to use the training in responding to violations of Indigenous people’s rights caused by development projects in Indigenous lands.
