Lay Leangsry

YEDP is an NGO working in partnership with youth networks and civil society organisations to advocate for respect for human rights, rule of law and environmental protection. As a civic education officer, Lay coordinates capacity building with the youth networks and assists them in organising advocacy campaigns. In addition to facilitating a space for community rights advocates to influence policy makers and duty bearers, Lay and YEDP are involved in campaigning for the release of ADHOC defenders, youth environmental activists and preventing land grabbing in Cambodia. From the DTP training, Lay is keen to learn more from the human rights experts and practitioners, especially when responding to human rights violations. She hopes to build networks with the other participants.
