Lisa Mumbin

CEO, Kalano Community Association
Australia
Lisa is Chairperson of the Jawoyn Association, a body corporate which represents and promotes the views and aspirations of traditional landowners in relation to the management, protection, control, and development of Jawoyn traditional lands in the Northern Territory. Lisa is primarily responsible for running the meetings of this organisation and liaising with government and non-government organisations on a day to day basis. Recently, she has had increased dealings with the Australian Commonwealth Government as a result of the 2007 Northern Territory intervention. Lisa sees the DTP training as a chance to improve her lobbying and media skills so that she can better advocate for the Jawoyn people, particularly in relation to the impact of the Northern Territory intervention on local communities.
