Lucy Rose Doolan

Lucy is an active member of the Koori Youth Council of Victoria and is also a member of the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVIC). Lucy is helping establish a Youth Council in Mildura which would be a part of the State Koori Youth Council. Lucy has also been an Australian delegate at the 8th Commonwealth Youth Forum. Lucy is concerned about the issues of discrimination that her community faces. The main human rights violation that Lucy witnesses is discrimination-direct and indirect racism. Lucy believes that her training would assist in making Aboriginal People more aware of their rights and this would lead to their empowerment. Lucy would also like to learn about the UN system and international governing organisations.
