Mian Shafiq-ur-Rehman

Shafiq is serving as coordinator of Human Resource Development at the GDP, where he arranges training on issues such as peace and social justice, human rights laws, as well as education and political empowerment to NGO’s, community activists and the like. He is involved in lobbying the Pakistani government to establish a youth policy through a National Commission of Youth. He would like this body to promote advocacy, research and policy making for the youth of Pakistan. Mian also works as a volunteer for the Civil Society Promotion Initiative (CSPI), where he is an advocate for corporate and social responsibility. He attends the DTP training in the hope that it will help him empower local Pakistani communities. He is particularly interested in establishing a strong network with his fellow participants.
