Victor Mambor

Program Coordinator for Information and Communication, Papua NGO’s Collaboration Forum
Indonesia
Victor is a Papuan and a member of the Wondama Bay Community. Victor is the Program Co-ordinator for the Information and Communication Network of Foker LSM Papua and Chief Editor in Tabloid Jubi. Foker LSM Papua is an NGO Forum that allows for information sharing between Papuan NGOs. Victor’s role is to develop information networking centre and encourage the growth of regional information links, and to ensure that the information can be distributed to Foker LAM’s members. As Chief Editor of Tabloid Jubi, Victor seeks to publish the views of indigenous West Papuans and to encourage West Papuans to think of themselves as the rightful owners of their land, not as victims. Issues of importance to both roles include indigenous people’s rights, the right to health, the right to education and HIV/AIDs. Victor hopes to gain more knowledge of advocacy and lobbying skills at the training program and to create strong networks as he believes that this will help him build a stronger campaign to support the human rights of West Papuans.
