DTP hosts “Strengthening Networks for Human Rights and Democracy” session at Asia Democracy Assembly 2022

The Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) was a partner in the “Asia Democracy Assembly 2022: Rise Asia” organised by the Asia Democracy Network (ADN) held in Bali, Indonesia on November 7-8. There were over 100 participants from across Asia, and a strong focus on how to respond to growing authoritarianism and other threats to democracy and human rights.

DTP hosted a breakout out session on “Strengthening Networks for Human Rights and Democracy”. The session’s objective was to facilitate the exchange of views among Asian CSOs and human rights advocates on how best to use capacity building & training to support and build human rights and democracy movements in the region.

The highly participatory session drew out different experiences and approaches with a consensus that human rights training is vital to push back rising authoritarianism in Asia. There was clear interest in continuing the discussion.

DTP brought together participants to facilitate the exchange of views among Asian CSOs and human rights advocates on how best to use capacity building & training to support and build human rights and democracy movements in the region.
