Webinar
Tuesday 15th April, 2025
DTP is committed to building knowledge and understanding of the rights of Indigenous Peoples/First Nations. The key international standards are UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and ILO Convention 169. DTP has a long partnership with Oxfam and following consultations with DTP alumni, Oxfam and others it was agreed to organise an initial series of three webinars on UNDRIP. The intention is to develop knowledge and understanding of UNDRIP, to contribute to discussion and advocacy on its implementation.
The webinar series continues a longer-term strategy of knowledge and skills building to promote understanding, support and implementation of UNDRIP. The activities were developed and guided by the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) in partnership with the First Nations Program of Oxfam Australia (OA). DTP is deeply grateful to the experts and advocate to the experts who shared their knowledge and expertise in these webinars. DTP is grateful to the Swiss Embassy in Canberra for its support also.
The Concept Note provides some more information on objectives, proposed activities and outcomes.
DTP acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, the Bedegal people of the Eora Nation. We recognise their lands were never ceded, and we acknowledge their struggles for recognition and rights and pay our respects to the Elders – past, present – and the youth who are working towards a brighter tomorrow. This continent always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
