Sheena is an Indigenous Australian and is currently studying a Bachelor of Business in Management and International Business. Sheena is actively engaged in the impact of climate change as a human rights issue for Indigenous people. Sheena is currently the Indigenous Director of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and in that role prepares policy advice to the Government to ensure Indigenous values are included in policy negotiations. Sheena recently represented Australia’s Indigenous people at the UNFCCC Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen and engaged the Non-Government and Government sectors to bring about better outcomes for Indigenous Australians. Recently, Sheena has been the National Union of Students National Indigenous Officer, coordinating and chairing the National Indigenous Students Conference. Currently, Sheena is building a peak body for Australian Indigenous Climate Change organisations to improve the voice of Indigenous Australian on climate change issues. Sheena will use the training program to improve her understanding of international systems and the skills of political advocacy.
