Dr Atem Atem (PhD) is the Communities in Cultural Transition (CiCT) Project lead at the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS). The CiCT Project is a specialist community capacity building program that supports community groups with refugee backgrounds or migrant groups with refugee-like backgrounds who have recently settled in NSW. Dr Atem is also an adjunct fellow at the Western Sydney University’s Humanitarian and Development Research Initiative (HADRI). In addition, Dr Atem is the president of Refugee Communities Advocacy Network (RCAN) NSW Inc. RCAN is a refugee-led and driven advocacy organisation.
