La’o Hamutuk advocates to Timorese and Indonesian policy makers to end the ongoing impunity for crimes against humanity committed during the 24-year Indonesian occupation in Timor-Leste. As part of this work, La’o Hamutuk write articles, press releases and letters to policy makers to raise awareness about the ongoing impunity and lack of justice that are still threatening the security and well-being of Timorese. Celestino’s role as a Team Coordinator and Researcher is to focus on issues such as human rights, democracy, economy, justice and the need to build international solidarity. Celestino hopes that the Diplomacy Training Program will teach him how to become a skillful and diplomatic advocate by enabling him to communicate and lobby effectively on human rights issues in Timor-Leste and abroad.
