Deckler Imes Kokir Yesnat

Decler Yesnat works as a Chairman for the Youth of Papua for Indigenous People (GEMPHA) and manages and conducts university discussions on human rights issues relating to West Papua. Through his advocacy, he has established traditional story writing contests and social media to promote Indigenous Papuan Culture. Further, he has established and leads an Investigation Team who advocate for the MPUR Kebar Tribe and the threat of oil conglomerates in the Tambrauw district. Decler hopes this training program will enable him to learn from other participant experiences and to apply difference advocacy methods to effectively resolve issues of Indigenous people’s rights. He also hopes to expand his network and spread more knowledge and awareness about human rights issues within Indonesian universities.
