Jane Elizabeth Nabong

Projects Officer, Indigenous Peoples Movement for Self-Determination and Liberation
Philippines

Jane is a Project Officer at the Indigenous Peoples Movement for Self-Determination and Liberation and the focal person for the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) Task Force on Nexus Issues (Humanitarian, Development, and Peace). She started working in the organization in May 2022, and IPMSDL’s work focuses on the human rights and justice issues of Indigenous Peoples and other marginalized sectors with similar struggles. This year, Jane leads a project titled “Revitalizing Indigenous Identity of Cordilleran Diaspora with Music and Dance,” which will contribute to protecting and preserving the continuance of the Cordillera Peoples ancestral wisdom through the intergenerational sharing of culture and arts. Jane hopes this program will build her knowledge of advocacy, engagement, and lobbying anchored in human rights and incorporate these into her work. She also wants to gain strategic advocacy skills, broaden her awareness of other human rights issues and solidify her organization’s work on solidarity building. Aside from this, she is also actively participating in theater productions and music productions since 2016.
