Muhammad Sampurno

Student, Indonesia Jentera School of Law
Indonesia
Muhammad is a student at the Indonesia Jentera School of Law. He coaches debate and is an alumnus at Bandung 1 State Senior High School. Besides being actively involved in student activities, he is also an active member of the Youth Coalition for Girls (YCG), where he has had the opportunity to voice issues of inequality in women and children’s rights. Muhammad also participated on a research project examining the participation of young people in the implementation of village governance and economic activities carried out by village administration. By participating in this program Muhammad is hoping to develop knowledge on best practice at national and international levels, in relation to the protection of migrant workers’ rights, a more thorough understanding of the regional law instruments, structure and processes that exist within ASEAN to protect migrant workers, and how these systems are implemented, and through this program hopes to then utilise his newly realised knowledge and skills to build relationships with advocates and migrant workers to understand the broader migrant issues.
