Participants, trainers, and partners at 30th annual Human Rights and Peoples' Diplomacy Training Program
Timor-Leste

21 August - 1 September 2023

This annual, comprehensive human rights and advocacy course is the longest established human rights training program held in the region. It builds knowledge of international human rights standards and the UN system and skills in strategic advocacy. The program will build practical links between advocates in the region.

DTP Alumni Profile

Nayela participated in the DTP/MFA migrant worker program in Bangladesh in 2015/16. She now works with the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) managing their EU funded Inter-Governmental Mechanism (IGM) project.

Wenise is an Australian-based Korean human rights advocate, focused on crimes against humanity perpetrated by the North Korean regime. She's currently working on a documentary film that captures the story of Australian veterans in the Korean War.

Usa is the Executive Director of the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women (APSW) in Bangkok, Thailand. She has been a women’s rights activist for over 30 years. Usa campaigns and advocates to address systematic discrimination against women in Thailand, and provides trainings to women’s leaders and leaders of various sectors.

After being delayed by COVID, 29 human rights advocates from the region participated in the 30th Annual Program in Bangkok, 23 January - 3rd February.

I would definitely recommend any of DTP’s training programs, the networking is priceless, the opportunities endless and the quality of staff and training — spot on.
