2026 – Strategy Workshop Human Rights Education and Advocacy Training in Asia

This workshop will bring together DTP alumni, trainers and partners and others involved in human rights training to share good practice, lessons learned and to reflect on the role of training in building Resilience for Human Rights and Democracy Movements

This workshop responds to the closing of civil society spaces and the rise in authoritarianism in Asia, and the challenges facing the region’s diverse human rights movements.

The workshop aims to:

• Increase awareness of human rights and democracy capacity-building in the region;
• Share methodologies and lessons learned;
• Reflect and document approaches to capacity building on human rights;
• Consider options for greater collaboration in human rights training across programs and movements
• Establish a network of organisations and individuals engaged in capacity building to facilitate ongoing collaboration.
