Fred Conning

Fred is the Project Officer for SIVEC. He oversees the administration of the organisation, which is concerned with rural and village development in relation to electrification, including the use of renewable energy. His work also includes advocacy on behalf of the organisation with government and development partners. Fred is interested in developing his practical skills in lobbying the different agencies that his organisation is dealing with, which includes national, provincial, and international development partners. He also sees media as important in his work. Fred also provides the technical aspects of SIVEC’s work in design and construction. He has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Auckland Institute of Technology.
