Hemanta Tripura

Hermanta works as an assistant Private Secretary to the State-Minister, on the Taskforce for Tribal Refugee and IDP Rehabilitation, Khagrachari. His responsibilities include coordinating and maintaining liaison with relevant government and nongovernment stakeholders. Additionally in his capacity as a researcher with the LARA foundation, Hemanta updates and coordinates the day to day activities of the organization with different stakeholders. LARA provides legal assistance to indigenous litigants without the means to seek legal assistance. As a person from legal profession and a member of the Tripura people, he has the vantage point of issues he comes across on both a personal and professional level. He sees the opportunity to participate in the program as an endeavour towards changing the idea of living of the world Indigenous people. Moreover, he believes that this training program will enhance the capacity of his organization to actively engage with international processes in seeking lasting peace and justice in indigenous communities in Bangladesh.
