Asma is responsible for a wide range of duties in her organisation include supporting the development and implementation of Capacity Building and Training Plans and Annual Plans, initiating, conducting and facilitating research, monitoring and evaluation of village court and mediation programme interventions, ensuring the effective gathering, recording and analysis of data and the production of reports related to that data. She also supports the roll out of media campaigns and assists in communication related to campaign strategies around policy and advocacy. Asma has been involved in the work of MLAA to ensure better access to justice for disadvantaged through public advocacy and the publication and dissemination of plain language texts about law and human rights. She has also been active in their work to increase the capacity of duty bearers (staff and community members) to activate local level justice that protects the human rights of community members. Asma believes this program will equip her with a better understanding of human rights and practical skills which will benefit her and her organisation work in the training advocacy work they do to support the local community, and in particular to support disadvantaged women.
