Bablu Chakma

Australia
Bablu is currently interning for Amnesty International Australia. He works as a Project Assistant on the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), an initiative which aims for an inclusive Australia by promoting a deeper understanding of, and building strong relationships with indigenous Australians. As Project Assistant, Bablu currently assists AIA in engaging more with local Indigenous communities in the Perth metropolitan region; he establishes and maintains networks with Aboriginal organisations, and promotes Aboriginal community events in the Perth Office. Further, Bablu works independently for the human rights of Indigenous people in Bangladesh, and has previously worked for the Chittagong Hill Tracts Hill Students’ Council, and Kapaeeng Foundation. Bablu views this program as a great opportunity to build good networks with Indigenous and non-indigenous activists and scholars. He also believes the training program will benefit his work, by helping him become better equipped with different strategies concerning lobby, campaign and advocacy for indigenous peoples.
