Badal Hajong

Organizing Secretary, Bangladesh Indigenous Students Action Forum
Bangladesh
Badal works as Network Manager – building connections with other indigenous student and human rights-based organisations. In 2017, when there was attack on the Indigenous peoples of Langdu, Raangamati and the attack of the uprooted Santals family at Gaibandha, Badal’s organisation stood up against the human right violence, protested, and made a human chain claiming for compensation for affected people. Badal and his organisation were involved in providing recommendations to the government and local MPs to take appropriate actions for rehabilitation. Badal believes this DTP training program will enable him to gather deeper knowledge and information about human rights laws, policies and social inclusion. Badal hopes that the opportunity to participate will help to network and connect with others surrounding indigenous issues.
