Dina Maria Danomira is an indigenous activist based in Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia. She belongs to the Moor, Biak and Wondama Peoples in the Saireri Territory of Papua. Advocating for climate justice since the age of 13, she has participated in COPs and international summits as a youth activist. Her most significant achievement is founding Papua Trada Sampah with her friends in 2018, a grassroots movement focusing on waste management, which has expanded to other cities in West Papua. She is a YSEALI WLA 2023 alumni, a 2024 OHCHR Indigenous Fellow, and a DTP alumni in the 33rd Annual Human Rights & People’s Diplomacy Training Program in Timor-Leste. Nowadays, she helps to consult legal aid institutes and CSOs regarding international human rights mechanisms.

News and Activity

This is the first webinar in our series which introduced the EU guidelines on Human Rights Defenders and their relevance for frontline human rights defenders. It will draw directly on the experience of practitioners – from the EU and from Frontline Defenders.  It will build awareness of the content of the Guidelines and the actions they call for from EU Embassies and Diplomats – with some real examples.
